Murdo Bews’ grandson, Kieran Bews, took a collection of his grandfather’s war memorabilia to Westray Junior High, in connection with a school project about WW1. The author writes: “We should all be very grateful that the family have treasured these items and not treated them as ‘bruck’ to be thrown out.”
